The 7-year-old girl having a total meltdown outside the door of Sunday school class, clinging for dear life to mom, refusing to go in, begging for her life, while other concerned children looked on from inside the room? That was me. While I can’t go back and help my mom with the self-regulation tools I needed back then, I can help you.

I've been deeply curious about the inner workings of the human mind since I was in high school.  When I was a teenager, I began reading books by Ram Dass like Be Here Now, Journey Of Awakening and Grist For The Mill. This led me on a life-long study of human awareness. It was also at this time that I began volunteering at a school for children with disabilities.

My passion to help children live their best lives led me to a degree in Child Development from the University of Minnesota, specializing in communication disorders.

While traveling through India in my 20s, my two interests merged when an ‘aha’ moment changed the course of my professional work. I discovered the practice of Yoga to be an exquisite way for both children and adults to integrate their sensory experiences while cultivating awareness, balance and openness in both body and mind. This initial insight sparked a passion that continues to burn brightly as I share the timeless teachings of Yoga with students of all ages and abilities.
